FULL-FACE MASKS AND DIVING HELMETS
FULL-FACE MASKS :
    DIVATOR MK2

The face mask with inner mask is made of silicone and provided with a flat visor.
The sides of the visor are mat finished to avoid optical distortions which may be very irritating.
The mask has holed studs for fitting spectacles.
In the connection piece for the breathing valve there is space for a microphone to a diving telephone.
(When fitting a microphone a cover with long screws should be used).
The head harness has five straps that are tightened and locked by stainless steel buckles.
The wide and soft sealing edge of the mask is pressed lightly against the face by the positive pressure and follows the contours of the face giving an effective seal.

A breathing apparatus must be physiologically correct in order not to tire the wearer and increase the air consumption.
Rebreathing of carbon dioxide enriched exhaled air must be eliminated as far as possible (small dead space) and the breathing resistance must be as low as possible whilst the equipment must have sufficient capacity to cater for even an extremely hard work rate.
The dead space has been minimized by the inner mask and separate inhalation and exhalation channels which coincide with channels in the breathing valve.
In that way inhalation and exhalation air will never be mixed.
During inhalation, air flows from the breathing valve up through the demister ports over the inside of the visor preventing any condensation from forming, and on through the non-return valves into the inner mask.
During exhalation, the air is expelled to the ambient water through the exhalation valve.
    ATMOSPHERE FULL-FACE MASK

The Atmosphere fullface mask is equipped with one of the world’s most high performing regulators - the Jetstream OP.
It is approved for cold water and in combination with the mask it features a unique highly effective de-fogging system which keeps the field of vision clear even at water temperatures close or equal to the freezing point.
The mask has a no distorsion visor, with blasted sides to prevent reflexions.

The mask has positive pressure breathing which is activated via a switch that can be easily reached even with thick gloves on.
The positive pressure breathing system is a fail safe construction which if not activated will allow normal demand valve breathing.
The mask can of course be used in all attitudes without free-flowing.

Once upgraded the regulator can be used without the mask, with no further modifications.
All parts on the mask are easily dismountable with an allen-key for servicing and cleaning.
The Carbon-dioxide figures are extremely low due to the low dead space and absolute seal.
It is tested by the Swedish Navy to range from 0.02% to 0.11% at breathing rates of 15 LPM to 62.5 LPM at 50m depth.
The regulator is approved in accordance with the EU PPE Directive 89/686/EEC and harmonised standard EN 250:2000.
Breathing performance is well within required 3 J/l at 50m depth at 50 bar cylinder pressure.

Any standard communication system will fit the mask.
The mask has external bouyancy compensating weights which also can be used for mounting torches, video-cameras etc.
    KMB 18 & 28 Band Masks

The fully tested and certified KMB 18B & 28B Band Masks may be used in mixed gas diving as well as shallow water diving.
The SuperFlow adjustable demand regulators provide low inhalation resistance and high gas flow letting the diver breathe easier and work harder with less exertion.
The KMB 18 now comes standard with the large tube SuperFlow 350 regulator while the KMB 28 uses the SuperFlow regulator.

The Side Block Assembly of both the KMB 18 and 28 receives the umbilical over the shoulder in the B configuration.
They both come standard with the Tri-Valve™ exhaust system (Patents Pending), and the new patent pending Band Mask Band Keepers.

The Tri-Valve™ Exhaust System (Patents Pending) has less breathing resistance than the older single valve exhaust.
It retrofits to all previous Kirby Morgan Band Masks®.
The new patent pending Band Mask® Band Keepers™ coupled with the redesigned hood not only prevent any separation of the hood from the mask but also makes it impossible for the bands to separate from the mask.
The communications connections can be either a male waterproof plug in type or bare wire posts.
The KMB 28B Band Mask is very similar to the KMB 18.
Many parts on the KMB 18B are interchangeable with the KMB 28B.
The major difference between the 18 and 28 is the material of the mask frame itself.
The KMB 18 has a hand laid fiberglass frame (yellow) while the KMB 28B frame is an extremely durable injection molded plastic (black).
The relative ease of production of the KMB 28 frame allows for a lower cost and quicker delivery of this mask.
Other differences include:
  • The main exhaust body of the KMB 28 is part of the frame itself and uses a #545-041 main exhaust cover
  • no comfort insert is required on the "28"
  • the face ports for the 18 and the 28 differ slightly in size.
  • the KMB 28 uses the SuperFlow regulator, the KMB 18 uses the large tube SuperFlow 350 regulator.

    AIR CONTROL SYSTEM 5

The fully tested Kirby Morgan Air Control System 5 (KMACS 5) is a lightweight, portable control box for use in surface supplied air diving operations.
The KMACS 5 controls the diver's air supply, communications and monitors the diver's depth.
It allows two divers clear push-to-talk (two wire) or round robin (four wire) communications.
The KMACS 5 is also available without communications.

The air supply can be either from a low pressure compressor or high-pressure cylinders.
The KMACS 5's adjustable first stage regulator reduces the high-pressure air and supplies low pressure through the umbilical to the diver's breathing system.
High pressure yokes with DIN adapters permit U.S. standard scuba cylinders or DIN valve cylinders to be used.
Low pressure air supply fittings allow for a L.P. compressor to be used as the primary air source.

A complete pneumo system with dual reading gauges (both US Standard and Metric) is provided for each diver, as well as a shut-off/bleed system that uses two high-pressure feed lines which allows changing of used cylinders without interruption of the diving operation.
Shut off valves allow the isolation of each diver's air supply.

Shut off valves allow the isolation of each diver's air supply. The Communication Set is a multipurpose intercommunication system that provides reliable and clear communications between a topside operator (tender) and one or more surface-supported divers, diving bells, personnel transfer capsules (PTC)s, recompression chambers, or other submersible systems.
The lightweight, high impact polyethylene plastic case features double wall construction and extra thick corners ensure exceptional strength and a long work life. An O-ring seal protects hardware from moisture when the case is closed.
All latches are stainless steel for maximum work life.
    DESCO AIR HAT

The DESCO Air Hat has been in production for over thirty years, and has continually evolved to meet the requirements of the commercial diving industry.
The Air Hat conforms to all current regulations of the ADC Consensus Standards, and Federal Regulations administered by OSHA and the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Air Hat has been awarded certification by the European Community for use in EC member countries and carries the CE # stamped on the tail.
The DESCO Air Hat is a "free flow" helmet of modern design.
It uses materials in its construction similar to the heavy gear helmets of the past.
Brass castings are deep soldered to a 1/16" thick spun copper shell.
The Air Hat is remarkable both for its ruggedness and its simplicity of design.
It can be disassembled and reassembled using only a screwdriver and wrench.
It can easily be donned or removed by the diver without assistance from the tender.
Using the adjustable exhaust valve the Air Hat can be adjusted to either side of neutral buoyancy underwater with ease.
With its low center of gravity and excellent fore and aft balance it rest comfortably on the divers head.
The interior headliner is adjustable for size and the foam pads are covered in leather for comfort.
The Air Hat is the preferred helmet for working in hazardous environments where contamination of the diver is a concern.
The "free flow" design allows for a constant positive pressure to be maintained in the Air Hat.
The standard double exhaust incorporates two separate successive seals to restrict the possibility of leak back.
The Air Hat comes standard with a neck dam for sealing at the neck.
Leading dry suit manufacturers offer a DESCO yoke to directly mate the helmet to the dress in place of the neck dam.
Installation of the insert ring to the dry suit is quick and easy, and does not require tools.
Sealing of the Air Hat at the neck is achieved with two independent but complementary seals which are air and watertight.
The Air Hat is shipped with the neck ring insert, a size 15 neck dam, and a adjustable jock strap.
Also standard, is a double air inlet elbow equipped with two non return valves.
The lower inlet is for the surface air supply line, while the upper inlet is for a bail out bottle whip. The upper inlet is supplied with a dust cap to protect the threads and prevent dirt entry while not in use. On top of the snout are two blocks for mounting of lights or video cameras. The air control valve handle has been redesigned to reduce the possibility of snagging. Threading on the non-return accepts 9/16"-18 Oxygen fitting.

    XSTREAM Deep

The Xstream second stage has a well-proven construction with a number of newly developed characteristics.
The inner volume, so called dead space, is small, which enables the build up of carbon dioxide to be minimized.
At inhale and exhale the resistance is minimal, e.g. 0.07 Joule at inhale at 150 meters (app. 495 feet) depth.
The exhalation diaphragm is protected by a cover that can be removed without using tools for easy access to the diaphragm.
The diaphragm’s position on the second stage also prevents flowing water from finding its way in to the valve.

As the name indicates Xstream Deep is designed for those who dive deep with gas mixtures up to 21% oxygen.
Depending on the area of usage and choice of configuration, the Deep first stage exists in two varieties; with the wheel mounted in the bottom part or from the side (Deep 90). The colour marking of the first- and second stage is black (Trimix).
The second stage is equipped with neck-straps as standard. The number of outlets is minimized to three for Deep 90 and two for Deep for maximum safety.
The LP-hose for the regulator is offered in a range of lengths.
    XSTREAM Deco

The Xstream second stage has a well-proven construction with a number of newly developed characteristics.
The inner volume, so called dead space, is small, which enables the build up of carbon dioxide to be minimized. At inhale and exhale the resistance is minimal, e.g. 0.07 Joule at inhale at 150 meters (app. 495 feet) depth.
The exhalation diaphragm is protected by a cover that can be removed without using tools for easy access to the diaphragm. The diaphragm’s position on the second stage also prevents flowing water from finding its way in to the valve.

Xstream Deco is made especially for the deco-stop where you are guaranteed that you can use as high as 99.95% oxygen.
To never be confused with other gas mixtures, e.g. nitrox, the color-coding is in distinctive white for oxygen on the Deco first and second stage.
By that you are also certain that the first stage has the wheel mounted in the bottom to fit oxygen optimally. Besides this, Deco is O4-safe, i.e. Oxygen engineered, Oxygen compatible, Oxygen clean, Oxygen approved. The number of outlets is minimized to two for maximum safety. As standard, the second stage is equipped with neck straps.
The LP-hose for the regulator is offered in a range of lengths.
